songs to encourage

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body. ~Philippians 3:20+21

I Picked a Song Instead of a Word – Because For Me Music Can Paint A Bigger Picture Than Just Words Can {journal}

I liked this song the first time I heard it…

The harmonies caught me originally… But it grew on me every time I heard it. And the lyrics, they tell a story I know…

I’m used to being told what I should do… Or shouldn’t do… Or what the norm is… Or what others expect of me… or how to do things the “normal” way…

But if getting sick taught me one thing… it’s that you HAVE to do what works for you. Sometimes there just isn’t enough willpower to go around when you run out of energy before the projects are done… Sometimes the house is a mess… Sometimes dinner is an after thought…

You only get one life. Make time for you, for the things that make you happy and give you joy, that feed your soul and get your thru the hard times.

So this year, I want to live more like that… To do my own thing more, without worrying if it will be okay with everyone else. To be okay with imperfection, and trade it for growth and development. To love life, and leave behind the parts I don’t love.

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil. ~ 1 Peter 3: 13 + 17
